Islamabad: As per the latest updates, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has launched a Rs. 4 billion scholarship program to support needy Pakistani students. The major purpose behind this initiative is to help students who are unable to complete their education due to financial issues. As per the sources, to boost educational standards in Islamabad, the Ministry of Federal Education & Professional Training (MFEPT) started another project called “Provision of Basic Educational Facilities in Educational Institutions of ICT. This project aims to provide the best educational facilities in Islamabad’s rural and urban areas.
Secretary MFEPT Mohyudin Wani highlighted that the Ministry’s total PSDP portfolio is Rs 8.5 billion. The amount will be used for the following purpose: following purposes:
- Rs 5.4 billion is dedicated to basic education
- Rs 3.1 billion is dedicated to technical education
- Rs 4 billion Pakistan Education Endowment Fund (PEEF) has been created for underprivileged students
- Rs 800 million will particularly be allocated to Balochistan students
Moreover, Rs 8.5 billion, allocated for advancing educational standards in Islamabad, aims to address the educational gap between rural and urban areas in the city.
The major goal of the MFEPT behind initiating a project is to improve infrastructure, provide crucial educational tools, and enhance the quality of education in the city rural and urban areas.
Furthermore, Secretary Wani also stated that enhancing education is critical for Pakistan’s development. Thus, investing in both basic and technical education signifies the government’s commitment to providing a complete educational framework that benefits all students.
In short, both the Rs 4 billion scholarship program and the Rs 8.5 billion allocation for refining educational facilities in Islamabad will perfectly impact the educational landscape in the country.
