Pakistan: As per the notification issued by the Finance Ministry, govt announces big relief in petrol price. The petrol rates decreased by Rs. 15.39 per litre to Rs. 273.10. On the other hand, the new high-speed diesel rate has decreased by Rs. 7.88 per litre to Rs. 274.08. It is pertinent to mention that the new petrol prices will be applicable starting today, 16th May 2024.

Furthermore, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has thoroughly reviewed and worked on consumer prices based on the rate variations in the international market.
As per the sources, the new petrol price has seen a major decrease as a result of decreasing trend in the international market during the last fortnight. However, considering the new rate adjustments, the new petrol prices stand at:
- Rs 273.10 for petrol
- Rs 274.08 for high-speed diesel
- Rs 161.17 for light diesel.
In addition, this is the second time that the government have provided relief on the petrol rate as on 1st May, the government also reduced the price of petrol by Rs 5.45 while the price of diesel decreased by Rs 8.42.
