Govt Plan to Sell PIA Under G2G Agreement

Islamabad: As per the latest updates, the Federal government after the failure to privatize PIA airline in their recent effort. However, govt now plan to sell Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) to Qatar and Abu Dhabi under the Government-to-Government (G2G) agreement. Moreover, the application for the expressions of interest for this purpose are applicable until 30th Nov 2024.

In addition, the major purpose of the govt plan to sell PIA under G2G Agreement is to address the ongoing financial issues of the PIA. They also aim to make a bright and stable future for the airline and make it profitable like before.

Additionally, considering the sale of the PIA, many firms, including the real estate most prominent developer, Blue World City, declined to raise their bid of Rs. 10 billion to get massive shares in the PIA. After the BWC, the government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa along with the government of Punjab both showed their interest in gaining the PIA Airline.
