Meteorological Department Announces Good News Amid Smog

Pakistan: After such a bad smog crisis in Lahore and some other cities of Pakistan, the Meteorological Department has now come up with some good news. As per the latest updates, the Meteorological Department predicted that a frontal weather system is likely to reach Pakistan’s northern parts on the evening of 14th November 2024. Moreover, They expect that this system will bring rain, wind, and thunderstorms, with snowfall over mountainous areas.

Below is the list of areas where anticipated for Rain, Wind, and Snowfall between 14th to 16th Nov:

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Shangla, Battagram, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Buner, Malakand, Bajaur, Mohmand, Khyber, Swabi, Nowshera, Mardan, Charsadda, Kurram, Orakzai, Kohat
Kashmir Neelum Valley, Muzaffarabad, Rawalakot, Poonch, Hattian, Bagh, Haveli, Sudhanoti, Kotli, Bhimber, Mirpur
Gilgit-Baltistan Diamir, Astore, Skardu, Gilgit, Hunza, Ghanche, Shigar

 

Below is the list of areas anticipated for light rain, wind, and thunderstorms between 14th to 15th Nov:

Punjab Islamabad/Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Talagang, Jhelum, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Lahore, Mianwali, Khushab, SargodhaKhyber Pakhtunkhwa: Peshawar, Hangu, Bannu, Lakki Marwat, Waziristan, Dera Ismail Khan
Balochistan Quetta, Ziarat, Zhob, Barkhan, Musakhel, Qilla Saifullah
South Punjab Bhakkar, Layyah, Dera Ghazi Khan

 

In addition, many cities of Pakistan like Islamabad, Pothohar, upper Punjab, and parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are suffering from a severe smog crisis which leads to health-related problems.

However, the department expect that this rain will lessen smog and enhance the air quality in Pakistan’s major cities. Furthermore, the department also asked Travelers and tourists to make wise decisions while planning their trips, as safety comes first. Additionally, the department also guide farmers  to consider the weather while planning their activities.
