Punjab: During a hearing on a petition about smog and environmental pollution, the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has reported to the Lahore high court that the temperature in expected to surpass 50 degrees in Punjab next week. Considering the seriousness of the heatwave, the public is asked to stay indoor to avoid the severe heatwave.

Justice Shahid Karim highlights that the severe heatwave has cause several issues and badly affected the plants and trees.
Considering the expected severe heatwave, the judge instructed the Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) to take strong measures and ensure the maintenance of all the public parks in Lahore.
He further asked the PHA to create a policy for park restoration, including financial support from the local inhabitants.
