NADRA Unveils All-in-one Digital Identity Kit

Islamabad: As per the latest updates, the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has recently revealed Pakistan’s first locally all-in-one digital identity kit. It is pertinent to mention that it is a collaborative project between NADRA Technologies Limited (NTL) and the National Radio and Telecommunication Corporation (NRTC).

The following are the NADRA’s digital identity kit features:

  • Fingerprint Recognition: Mobile ID FAP 60 certified to ensure the highest level of accuracy.
  • Iris Recognition: It improves security and authentication by supporting real-time contactless iris recognition
  • Facial Recognition: The kit’s advanced algorithms provide accurate facial recognition, which is important for various identity verification applications.
  • Contact and Contactless Card Reading: It is equipped with a detailed contact card reader and NFC competence for versatile card-based transactions and verifications.
  • MRZ Reader: It complies with ICAO and international standards and is perfect for effective passport and ID verification.
  • Barcode Scanning: It enables quick and reliable data capture and processing.

In addition, the digital kit enhances connectivity options, including support for:

  • 3G/4G
  • Bluetooth 5.0
  • USB (Type A and Type C)
  • Wi-Fi (IEEE 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac)

The kit also includes enhanced GPS technology to support GLONASS, Galileo, and Beidou, ensuring accurate global positioning and tracking. Moreover, the other features of the NADRA digital identity kit include a 10000mAh battery, all surrounded by an IP65-rated rugged case. The digital identity kit can be used for the following purposes:

  • Border control
  • Voter registration
  • Law enforcement
  • Customer services.
  • National ID programs

NADRA, showing their excitement, added, “We are excited to showcase this kit at the ID4D Africa Conference in Cape Town, South Africa, next week. Soon, it will also be deployed in NADRA’s registration operations and will be available commercially,”
